My e-mail from Tea Party Patriots on Thursday's rally.. |
|
Thursday's Continuing Revolution Rally was a huge success. Patriotic Americans made their voices heard and showed the reckless spenders in Congress that the Tea Party movement is not about to let them spend America into ruin.
Some quotes from speakers at the rally:
Jenny Beth Martin (National Coordinator - Tea Party Patriots):
"We don't want symbolism just so Congress can pat itself on the back and say, 'Oh, we've cut more than we've ever cut before.'"
Mike Pence (R-IN):
"If liberals in the Senate would rather play political games and shut down the government instead of making a small down payment on fiscal discipline and reform, I say, shut it down."
Steve King (R-IA):
"I'm going to fight Obamacare until it's gone."
Allen West (R-FL):
"We are not here to talk about shutting down government, but if you want to know about shutting down the government, go over there and talk to Chuck Schumer, go talk to Harry Reid , go down to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and talk to the president."
Michelle Bachmann (R-MN): "We will stand for cutting the size of government... We won't change our principles."
Kathy Dirr (Tea Party activist): "Don't be noodle backs. Take a strong, bold, unwavering stand for and with the American people."

7. Seriously. If they hate government so much, they could |
|
cut the size by getting out. Their followers are too stupid to see the screaming hypocrisy, apparently.

9. That is a wonderful idea - |
|
Hey Michelle - don't be a noodle-back. Take a stand against big government, roll your district into a neighboring one and stop being the problem. Be the solution Michelle!

8. Bring back pre-existing conditions! |
|
Hmmm. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it as "repeal Obamacare," does it? I wonder why they're such shrinking violets about the actual consequences of what they're advocating? "What? You had a cold in 1987, and that didn't immediately cause you to suspect that you'd develop cancer in 2011? Coverage denied! Pre-existing condition!"
