The paychecks were printed before the Board voted on this.

The Board of Education in the West Bloomfield School District has imposed a 10% pay cut on teachers.

The board voted 5-2 Thursday night on the cut that is effective with the paychecks teachers receive today and will be retroactive to Dec. 1, said Assistant Superintendent Rick Arnett.

The move comes after a year and a half of negotiations has failed to produce a contract between the district and the union representing teachers.

Officials from the union could not be reached for comment this morning.
