Florida DUers report, please.....How are Floridians reacting to
the horrible policies of Gov. Scott? Is there any voters remorse? Are there Dems, or others, lining up for the 2012 elections in Florida's legislature? What is the overall mood? Thanks for any info from Floridians especially or others "in the know" about Florida politics.

2. I was in Florida last week and ran across a few Republicans who...
...said they weren't stupid enough to vote for that criminal.

his policies. Four years of this crap is gonna destroy Florida in general and many lives in particular. IMO

Edited because I left out a word.

4. Voter's remorse is strong here.
I've spoken with several folks that voted for him and none of them are happy. Even (believe it or not) John Wilson, the loudmouth shill on the local Fox station has made unkind statements about his policies during broadcasts. And this is a guy who I've watched slam every dem politician in any race locally or nationally. His support for Scott was obvious up to and through the election but now, notsomuch.

7. Really good to hear this. I hope there will be some running for the state senate and
house who openly oppose Scott. How many seats are up in the coming cycle?

6. Who would have thought
that we would have to depend on the far right FL Senate for a bit of sanity....

8. The mood is grim. Every day they have a different group
of working or disabled people they want to rob. We keep trying to figure out where to go live. Vermont looks really good right now. Today we are holding rallies around the state and also going to have rallies on Monday. Bethune Cookman will also be having a march. Doubt it will get much coverage what with the "royal" welfare wedding and all.

9. The legislature? please. We're doomed. The GOP has a supermajority in both houses.
As for remorse, well, a recent poll showed that if the election were held today, Alex Sink would beat Rick Scott 56 to 37.

I think most anti-Scott voters in the state are resting their hopes on amendments 5 and 6, the state constitutional amendments that ban gerrymandering in state and federal congressional districts. Both passed with flying colors in the last election, and given that Democrats actually outnumber Republicans in Florida by several hundred thousand voters, fair districts would mean a much bluer state.

11. Well, the LTEs in my right-wing rag still
run pro-Scott and are full of teacher hate. However, I have been noticing more and more pro-union letters in there in recent weeks. Lots of retirees live here, many on pensions that their unions bargained for.

His poll numbers are tanking in the state. We have a ^12% UE rate here so there's frustration that jobs are NOT the legislature's and gov's focus.

My guess is that the only happy people in the state are lawyers, cuz the lawsuits against his dictatorial moves are coming fast and furious.

12. I hope he dismantles this state piece by piece.
Then we can build it back right and never have to worry about another rethug ever getting elected again.

14. Isn't that what we thought after Bush, that noboby would vote Republican again?
People have a strong need to belong to that club.

15. certain columnists are speaking out,
but this place is nuttier than all hell. the problem begins with 20% of the registered voters turning out for a major election, the next problem is only 38,000 votes got this assbag into office. That is less than what it would take to fill Raymond James Stadium for a tractor pull. (gaud, when I typed that I almost puked).

So what we have here is a low wage, dumbed down populace where the union retirees that could afford to buy winter homes in trailer parks are dying out and the up and comers haven't a clue as to what it took to get that.

BTW, the Democratic party here in St. Petersburg is just about non existant, although they did have a yard sale a few months ago at their headquarters.

I think they were selling off the furniture but I'm not sure.
