Cab Driver: Life lessons
I trained for my new cabbie job I am considering. Now, I am the type of person who usually does some deep thinking about my experiences and encounters. The most important thing I learned on this day of training was how different the "life experience" is when you are NOT working class.

We happened to drive some lawyers to work, they started at ten and were picked up at 3:30. While i realize that might not be a typical day, I have to say if I didn't have to fight traffic for an hour before I came to work, and fight it on the way home, I would perform a hell of alot different
when I did get to work. In fact my home life would be different also.

I am so happy about training day, I hope I get more glimpses into lifestyles I will never know.
I know the experiences will cause me to fight even harder for progressive ideals.

Dad worked 9-5, so do cousin and brother, and I did similar PLUS a few years 8:30-12 midnight! (Met some nice cabbies those nights.)

3. In order to become partners many young associates work 10 hr. days
or even longer.

So no, this isn't typical.

6. But I guess what is typical
Is not having to deal with driving yourself to work. Not having to battle your way to and from work everyday. And where I live it is a battle.

9. I haven't heard of that, either. That would certainly be a perk,
but I doubt it's common.

4. So your job is to follow people around
now that's a job I would not want, this is my opinion and mine only, I
consider those type of jobs as brain dead.

Not another psyops.

5. Huh??
No, actually I am taking this job because my 20 yr career as a Tradesperson is over. I am going to school to train for a new career, Taxi driver is on my bucket list. I already became someone, been there done that. I see this as an experience, a tale for the nursing home.

7. My partner drove a cab for nearly 10 years.
He wrote a lot of stories about it, if you'd like to check it out: http://www.smartasspress.com/home/metro_index

Good luck on your new path!
