First of the month, phone quit ringing, emails stopped

One you get on a donors list, it is hard to get them to stop. Between candidates, PACs, non profits, etc., the last week of the quarter can be rough. We have a hard time saying no. I used to be a telephone sales outbound dialer. Hope I don't lose friends over this secret.

1. I get these robo calls to my cell phone, they wait for my phone rings and message to
stop and then leave one of their political robo calls. And it's always some damn bloviating republican using up my minutes with a long winded voice mail.

3. Thats not right.
Can you delete them without listening to them? Or with our land line voice mail we can press 11 which sends it to the end then delete it.

7. There's no charge to listen to VM on my cell phone via a land line, so I just

delete them from there. At one time I had recorded a disconnect tone on the beginning of my cell phone mesg. which sometimes tells the robo call to disconnect. I might try that again. When I got a new cell phone recently I didn't bother to record the disconnect tone, but I think I'll try that again. I'm on the 'do not call list,' but robo calls for politicians are excluded. I agree, it's absolutely not right.

4. "Bo-Doo-Weep! We Are on the Do-Not-Call List, Telemarketers Please Do Not Call Here"
Our phone has caller ID and the ability to deliver different answering messages to different numbers.
If a caller gets persistent enough to be annoying, we set their number to give an outgoing message:

"Bo-Doo-Weep! We Are on the Do-Not-Call List, Telemarketers Please Do Not Call Here"

The "Bo-Doo-Weep" is the tone from calling a disconnected number. Some robocallers will give up when they hear it.

5. Charities and political are exempt from DNC

And I still report about one illegal call a month. When the ID says not available with Voice Messaging, you can't screen your calls. Sure if it is important they will leave a message.

And there are those we want to give to.

6. The Bo-Doo-Weep Tells the Robocaller that the Number is Disconnected
which in some cases will cause it to be deleted from their list.

8. It is called a SIT tone..
... and yes, most telemarketers will hang up and remove you when they hear about half of it. It usually means a disconnected number.
