3. It means zilch for me as I am priced out of 'health insurance' policies
Edited on Sat Apr-02-11 01:04 AM by Mimosa
And I'm not poor enough for medicaid.

I'm beginning to wonder who is behind this constant propaganda effort.

I already know I can't afford health insurance and I'm not poor enough for medicaid.

Oh, you gave your GAME away: 'Our Free Guide"? Who's the 'OUR"?

7. The ones in my area aren't taking new patients
This whole thing is a joke. maybe it won't be by 2014. But it's not helping a lot of people now.

5. Consumers Union is the respected consumer guide people

They accept no advertising.

Soon YOU will be able to get your subsidized health insurance from an exchange. It is for low income people and small companies. Perhaps you need to forget about right wing talking points and learn just what is in the health care act.

And what year will you be able to get subsidized care? That is why you need more info like this. :-) So download the PDF and take a look.

This info is from a different source AFSCME: http://www.afscme.org/issues/74.cfm (Source: The Rachel Maddow Show)

11. It's not much better if you are on medicaid...
there are very few Doctors taking Medicaid and the ones that do have waiting lists...

I'm in the same boat as you. I make about $3000 too much per year to qualify and I'm self employed. My wife is disabled and 2 of my kids have pre-existing conditions.. No insurance for us. I put my kids on my mother in laws medicare since they live with her part of the year and now the state is coming after me for child support. Talk about nuts. I can't wait to see what options they think I have.

Edited on Sat Apr-02-11 03:06 PM by Mimosa
That's not a source for me to get any. I don't get the point.

And I know what's in the legislation.

9. Yes, yes, and yes.
2014--great. What do we do in the meantime, especially those of us without insurance who get sick?

10. Options: 1) Get Canadian citizenship now.
2) Wait for the subsidies to kick in.
3) Don't vote or vote republican and get Jack Shit.

12. It took everything to beat back conservatives in Congress to get to this point with reconciliation

In a perfect work with Congress full of only progressives, we would have had a much better result. Let's hope 2012 elections go our way and major reforms get off the ground in mid 2013.

There are programs in Omaha for people without health care.
