NJ Governor Christie and LT Governor show their Lack of Leadership in Winter Storm |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-27-10 11:37 PM by MadBadger
My headline. Where the fuck are they? Christie wants to go on vacation? Fine, but then the LT Governor better be here to run shit and especially when a fucking blizzard occurs and we are in a state of emergency. But where is the Lt Governor? On Vacation in Mexico leaving the Senate President Stephen Sweeney in charge.
Ultimately Christie is to blame. he fucked up by not coordinating his vacation time with Lt Governor Kim Guadagno. Ignoring the fact that they shouldnt have vacationed at the same time in the first place, they had more than enough time to fix their mistake when they saw the weather forecast and get somebody back to the state.
Now we hear that the Acting Governor is having trouble reaching Christie by phone...Great Leadership Ass hole.

1. If you do not believe in government why the hell be there? |
|
And no, I don't mean this in any sense of sarcasm. They just don't. So I am not surprised... and I hope the short memory voters for ONCE remember.

3. They sure are... Ask the myriad number of US mayors.... |
|
who have lost due to lousy response. I'd say Governors in statewide emergencies might just fair as poorly.

11. Sure are. Go figure. Hopefully this storm nails Christie and Bloomberg. |
|
They might as well have told the non-wealthy masses to eat cake.
Living in Chicago where we have suffered some of the worst snow storms (plus extreme winds and lake effect snow), I don't understand how there wasn't a coordinated plan in terms of snow plows, business closings, and mass transit.

12. I saw him on tv talking about "belt tightening" and "austerity" |
|
and thought "there's a guy who should NOT be on tv talking about cutting jobs". Certainly looked like he had been scarfing at the public trough.

13. I don't think NJ has a Lt Gov |
|
the Senate President becomes gov if the gov has to quit like when McGreevey did.

17. The Lt. Governor position started this year |
|
After several instances where the Senate President became the Acting Governor (Christie Whitman leaving office in 2001 to become head of the EPA, Jim McGreevy resigning in 2004, Jon Corzine in the hospital for not wearing his seat belt in 2006), there was a push to create a Lt. Governor. Now that we have one, I don't see the point.
