A solar challenge for America? C'mon Mr. Obama here is a chance to go all JFK! |
|
"I am challenging America to put solar (panels, power) on the roofs of all suitably oriented houses and buildings by the year 2022 - a 10 year plan to move us into renewable energy for everyone who wants and needs it"
Instead of giving $36+ plus billion to thieves and crooks in the dying nuclear industry, give it to real working people who actually pay taxes and will have much lower utility bills as a result. We all know the nukes will not pay back the money, and will want twice or three times as much eventually, so why not invest it in something that will actually have an effect?**
If JFK could call for a man on the moon in 10 years, go for broke with solar.
Have a bright day
** disclaimer - with solar on the roof we have paid zero dollars for electricity in the past 22 months thanks to the city of Riverside solar program.

have to consult with the industries that would be effected by this? They would have to let him.
I don't think we are allowed to do anything that would limit their profits, these days.

and with some diligent conservation measures be off the grid. No nukes required. If there were some decent incentives, I'd do it.

extend credits and financing to decentralize the grid, so the public could be spared the carbon load, and reduce the expense and risks of new large-scale nuclear and coal/oil/gas plants. Obama's Green Transformation was also supposed to finance small and medium green manufacturers and produce hundreds of thousands of new local jobs for home energy conversion and renovation firms.
Silly me.

10. Me too. I thought at the very minimum we'd be innundated with people offering to |

beef up our insulation and swap out the windows. I know there was some credit for that but it didn't take off like I expected.
