About the Budget Repair Bill, as told by a Republican police
officer.

The budget repair bill from Governor Walker has sparked a lot of controversy and has divided a state and has the potential to divide the country. Public workers have been made out to be the “haves” and private workers as the “have nots”. I vote about 90% republican. I am also a public worker and have been my whole life. I have 25 years on as a police officer. Let me tell you my story.

I have a friend. Let’s call him Kevin. Kevin and me went to high school together and came from similar background and both entered our careers with no help from mommy or daddy. I got into law enforcement right out of high school, Kevin got into construction and became a plumber.

2. The sad thing is that Kevin's business isn't going to improve either.
"Guess who was going to do the plumbing." As our society at large slides down the economic slope, there won't be anyone to bail anyone else out.

The slide will end up taking down the whole mountain. Even the guys with mansions at the top won't be immune.

3. I think this is the biggest thing that teabaggers and really plenty
of the wealthy don't realize either. If nobody can afford your products or services, you're not going to be making much of a living. Pretty elementary, but incredible how hard it is for so many to understand.

4. I'm sure plenty of others just like Bill are finally starting to wake up.
To bad it took a direct attack to get his attention but it sounds like he's taken the right first step.

BTW it was interesting to see a continuation of the envy and anger Republican types seem to have for public employees. Kevin barely contains his rage over the fact Bill got to keep his modest 1400 sf house while his own 4000 sf "mansion" got foreclosed on. In Kevin's mind Bill is somehow responsible for all of his own problems.
