I just saw the aftermath of a very bad car accident. Normally I turn away
(I'm squeamish and can't stand to see blood).

But this time I couldn't help but keep staring.

There were policemen and fireman working in concert to get trapped victims out of the car.

They were prying away at the door with this huge tool.

And I couldn't help but think that "these" are the people the extreme right has chosen to scapegoat and make the enemy.

What a fucking joke.

3. No shit!
How long do they think they can portray all these folks as lazy, and greedy, and looking for a handout.

Our teachers and cops and firefighters...really? :wtf:

what do you think?

Republicans are against:
gays, lesbians, immigrants, veterans, unions, NPR, professors,
teachers,
firefighters, police officers, scientists, workers, Muslims,
the elderly, the disabled,
the mentally ill, the poor, and the sick.
Who’s next…YOU?

Did I miss anyone?

Homeowners. I mean, basically everybody.

But that would be a long bumper sticker.

2. It's not just these people in the professions, but it is working people down
to the person who cleans the restrooms and washes dishes for a living. This is one of my frustrations with the notion that working people right now seem to begin and end with middle class professionals. There are lots of people in trade and service work who are being pushed down too and only some of them are represented by unions. Their work is just as essential.

4. And the real kikc in the head is- that the very people that are saying
that our police and fire members are nothing but greedy bastards, wouldn't even pick up their cell phones to call an accident in- let alone aide in an emergency situation.

That if he ever finds himself needing either the police or fire department he would be smart to keep his political opinions to himself.

11. Rethuglicans would be in a world of shit.

If they were required to have a sticker with their party affiliation on
their car and they found themselves in dire need of emergency services.

I'm sure the responders would act professionally but it might give the
rethuglicans in need something to think about.

13. And then suddenly, from out of nowhere
A group of billionaires, led by the Koch brothers, rushed onto the scene, elbowing the police and firefighters out of the way, and expertly provided life-saving aid, donned Superman capes, and flew the injured to the nearest trauma center hospital.

Did I get it right?

15. Yea...
In real life at their parties they laugh and scoff at people like the Fireman, Teachers, you, me and others.

They openly mock us......the Fireman and Teachers who voted for the Republicans are just finding out that the Koch's of the world have no place for them.

17. My question is...
How could they ever have voted for these freaks in the first place? Some people have not been paying attention and we are all suffering for it.

23. You answered your own question...
The RW has branded itself the party of "fiscal conservatism" over the last few decades, so people who don't pay attention just fall back on that, not understanding that it has been the Repukes that have caused the world of hurt that we are currently in, financially speaking.

I think the whole war on unions that has started in the midwest has woken up a bunch of people. I would bet that a LARGE percentage of the people who have been protesting against Scott Walker actually voted for him--people who voted "family values" or "fiscal conservatism" or "what my mom and dad vote".

And I think they got woken up by a kick in the head.

24. Partly. They'll swoop down, alright. Then they'll rifle the pockets of the victims for loose change.
Then they'll swoop away again, and all that will be left is the echo of the Kook Brothers' maniacal cackling.

16. Your story lends itself to a larger metaphor.
President Obama is an emergency worker who comes upon the scene of a terrible accident. While nobody is hurt inside yet, the car is on fire and there's no time to waste. So the President drags out the imperiled family one by one until almost everyone is safe. But time is running out and now choices must be made.

The drunk-driving father, his mother-in-law, and his wife are arguing over who President Obama should save, and who should die, and whether the President and others can collectively bargain for a decent living wage.

In the meantime, the President is trying to drag up a hose, to save them all, while the other three argue. If everyone lent a hand, everyone would be saved. If they continue to argue, the hamster, the goldfish, and the cockapoo have had it.
