My 22-year-old kitty died yesterday |
|
Axl was with a sitter along with Banjo, and he peacefully died in his sleep.
I've got him now, and we'll bury him in a special place. He's gone to join Ginny across the Rainbow Bridge.
I'm gonna miss our special little old man. He was a real sweetie.
Special thanks and appreciation to the sitter for caring for the kitties.

1. So sorry to hear of your loss. |
|
My daughter lost her guinea pig, Herman, over the weekend. You'd think that the death of a pet that was with us for only three years, would not hurt so much. But it does.
Will you get another cat?

|
I've gone through this a few times myself and my cat is now over 17 and she will be my final pet. I am now 58 and I wouldn't get another cat that could outlive me.
I hope I die in my sleep because I've gone to the vet a couple of times to have a pet put to sleep and it was not pleasant.

We estimate him to be around 10-12 years old and the two of them have been peas in a pod every since. He needed her, and she needed him too.
Just a thought.

having him pass on, is very hard. Am sorry that you could not have been there and understand more than you know. I too had a kitty that was 22 and died years back. Very hard indeed. It is fortunate he went well and I hope that you doing okay.

I'm still here
Friend, please don't mourn for me I'm still here, though you don't see. I'm right by your side each night and day and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near. I'm everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I'll never depart as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight- I'm the brightest star on a summer night. I'll never be beyond your reach- I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around and the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring. I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you, you can talk to me through the Lord above you. I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I'm the smile you see on a baby's face. Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

31. Hugs to you... hard to lose a little guy who's loved you so long. |
|
But you give me hope, too. My little guy is eighteen or thereabouts, and although he's moving a little slower and has a delicate tummy, he seems to be in good shape. Hope he's able to stay around another 3-4 years in comfort!
I had a little guy who was nearly 20, he'd lived with diabetes and kidney problems the last couple years of his life... he went while he was in the sitter's care, too. Sometimes I think they know how tough it is for us to let go of them, and they wait until we're away.
Hope you and your other little guy can comfort each other.
warmly, Bright

We've lost 1 dog and 4 cats this year. If that's not enough, our last old cat has peritonitis and won't be here long.
I should have stuck to my guns and got my spouse an ant farm. Our new kitten has probably contracted the disease by now too~

May his memories live on. I feel your sadness. I too lost two magical cats in the last few years.
I watched Breakfast At Tiffany's last night. It brought back the tears.
And not a day goes by, and dare I even admit a moment, when I don't think of the incredible times I had with my two, Farnsworth and Bart. It has been several years, and I can't even think about another as a partner.
I wish you well in dealing with the loss.

46. I wish I could hug you. I had a 22 year old dachshund that |
|
passed and I thought I would croak. It was like losing a daughter, someone I had spent almost one third of my life with. That empty spot is so hard to take. Cry, honey. You will for a long time. Don't worry about what anyone thinks. You are missing your child. I have three dachshunds now that are 13, 15 and 16 and are fixing to go pretty soon. Having them with you that long is a blessing. Cats can live so long I am not surprised your angel lasted. Please know you are in our thoughts and best wishes. Your cat was a champion and always will be.

98 died Nov 27th, he was the last animal still alive when I moved into this neighborhood. He did die peacefully but I miss him so much. My 6 yo Flamepoint Siamese just got diagnosed with diabetes, so we're now giving him insulin shots, I'll eat less so he'll live. So I'm with you in sorrow. The 6 yo is still looking for him, as is my dog.

65. I'm so sorry. I know the pain of losing animals I cherish -- it's crushing each |
|
time it happens. My heart goes out to you!
I'm of two minds when it comes to animals having such short lifespans relative to ours. I'm not a believer in god but I have to admit to shaking my fist at the universe a couple of times when it comes to the animals we love living such short lifespans. And then my other hand comes in -- if it weren't that way, I wouldn't have had the wonderful dogs I've had over the years. Sigh. I guess we just have to be content with what we can get.
Big hugs for you!
