Nasty wall of storms moving into Alabama/Georgia for the rest of the night.
We've already been having some pretty impressive wind gusts here in Atlanta.

A couple booms shook my building.

My cats just looked up, looked around and went back to sleep. :-)

11. My neighbors' dogs vary like that too.
My neighbor's big German Shepard mix runs and hides in his shower.

My other neighbor's dogs just say "Oh, was that thunder? Yawn."

Lots of continuous booms of thunder, and of dog barking furiously at each one.
But the really BIG storm is still to come, we are under tornado watch.

edited: tornado warning now.

6. We are in the bullseye overnight into morning in Raleigh -
we've had 85 degree weather with 20-30 mph winds, gusts to 40 or more, all day - weird. Hoping they don't go tornadic overnight....and really hoping we don't get hail.

7. It came through here last night
hang on to your hat as the wind will be blowing like mad. If you're on the light side, like me, you may want to put rocks in your pocket if you go outside for anything :-) otherwise you may get blown away.

10. Miss. got hit hard.
At least one person has died as a result of a severe storm front still passing through the state this evening.

In Copiah County, a driver was killed after a falling tree struck his vehicle in the Hopewell community, the Copiah County Emergency Management Agency reported.

Meanwhile, around 18,500 Entergy Mississippi customers were without power as of around 6:30 p.m., said Mara Hartmann, company spokeswoman.

Customers in more than 30 counties are affected, including thousands in central Mississippi, where more than 5,600 outages are reported in Hinds County.

30. Heavens.
Half of downtown Slidell is in darkness, about 19,000 homes so far.

We are on the Western edge of Slidell, in the boondocks. Surprisingly, we did not lose power. I think the winds to the East of us were stronger, about 100 mph.

Try and stay safe.

Now quiet. Eerie.

My brother in Northeast Georgia lost a tree to wind late this afternoon, and the good stuff ain't even gotten here yet. Could be in for a bumpy night.
