Status of the VT healthcare Bill at this moment: It has already passed the senate and the House.

VT's Republican governor will not veto the bill, but he will not sign it
either. As I understand the situation, Governor Douglas is simply allowing
the bill to become law by his not vetoing it. The people of VT are
overwhelmingly for the bill, and Douglas was gracious enough not to veto it.

VT is writing up the Single-Payer Healthcare system right now. I think
VT is the first state to be successfully doing it.

May the great majority of the other 49 states follow suit. And, in time,
when even the diehard Southern States see the real benefits it brings to
the people of America, they too will realize that they had been deceived
by the greed of the health insurance companies all thise many decades.

Health Insurance companies may become largely a thing of the past. And
good riddance to bad rubbish!

state. Why not make a try for it. Of course, some other states

9. I hope all goes well and congratulations are in order! If not for Arnold, California

would have had single payer years ago. Twice our state legislatures passed a single payer bill and twice Arnold vetoed it. Tirelessly advocated by State Senator Sheila Kuehl (Zelda for all you old Dobie Gillis fans) who was termed out, and now reintroduced by State Senator Mark Leno.

Unfortunately for Californians, during the campaign and now, Jerry Brown has given no indication whether or not he will sign it.

the new governor, is a Democrat, and very much in favor of single payer.

but he ran on getting Single Payer passed.
