Looking back at gas prices

I find it odd that the first two years Obama was elected gas prices fluctuated maybe 2-3 cents a gal. UNTIL the repukes took over. Right about the time that repukes won last Nov gas prices started to increase constantly. I know this for a fact because right after Obama was elected I was asked to come back to my job after 5 yrs. retirement. I was concerned that gas prices would increase and was dubious regarding my return to work since it would be a 60 mile drive everyday - 5 days a week but I believed that prices would not rise during my 4 month temp return. They did not. There were days prices went a a few cents but a couple of days later they would go back down. They actually stabalized after my job finished until right before the election. I find this odd. Until the repukes took over I was able to fill my tank between 25 -30 dollars today it was 46 dollars. Actually if prices went up a few cents during the time of my distance driving I knew if I could wait just a day or two gas prices would go down and they did.

I don't believe it is Libyia or the other countries causing this - it is the repukes who are in power. The repukes are in bed with the oil companies, not Obama.

I was paying around $2.68, not sure of the exact price, today it's $3.87, and I am sure it will go up before the end of the week!

6. Gas went up even over the weekend here in NY.

On Friday, the lowest price around (for regular) was $3.69, the highest $3.79, and that was up from the day before. Today the lowest was $3.74, the highest was $3.83. Premium is close to or over $4. And don't even ask about diesel, well over $4 everywhere. x(

I keep track of gas prices because I post them for my area on GasBuddy, found the site and joined it a year ago when prices started climbing and I started getting scared. The thing is, now I might know where the cheapest price is, but it's still way too expensive, and going up every day. :(

The oil companies and the speculators know that with republicans in charge of the house they can get away with whatever they want because Boehner and his gang won't allow any "regulation" to stop them!

The President is responsible when Democrats have Congress. A Republican House is responsible if the Democrats have the Senate and the White House. So would I be correct in assuming that when the Democrats had the House, the Senate and the White House, the Republican minority was responsible for no regulation?

10. Have You Also Noticed.............

.........that when gas prices go UP (for whatever B.S. reason they're trying to feed us this time), they go up about .20 to .25 per gallon (sometimes more). But when they go DOWN, they go down .02 or .03 per gallon.

I filled up this morning at a gas station that hadn't raised its prices yet. Its rate was set at $3.57 per gallon, while the gas station across the street was $3.79. Yeah, that's a 22-cent increase for no particular reason.

The last time gas prices got this high, the Congressional Democrats instituted hearings into allegations of price-gouging by the big oil companies (because amid their cries of poverty, they were making record profits), and "magically" the prices dropped back to a reasonable rate. Where are the hearings now?
