The GOP really is trying to kill us, literally .......
House passes aviation bill, targets safety rules
(AP) – 4 days ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — A sweeping aviation bill that could thwart proposed new safety regulations, including one that would prevent tired pilots from flying, passed the House Friday.

The $59.7 billion Republican-drafted bill is a blueprint for Federal Aviation Administration programs for the next three and a half years. It cuts the agency's budget by $4 billion, money GOP lawmakers said the agency can do without. Democrats said the cuts would endanger air safety.

The bill passed on a 223 to 196 mostly party line vote. It would require the FAA to tailor regulations to different segments of the aviation industry rather than set across-the-board safety standards. It also would prohibit new safety regulations if the agency can't justify the costs to the industry.

.....(snip).....

The bill also contains a provision that would effectively block a regulation proposed by the Transportation Department aimed at preventing fires caused by air shipments of lithium batteries like those used in cameras, cell phones, laptops and countless other products. The batteries can short-circuit in flight and catch fire. .............(more)

2. This stance would only "make sense" if simultaneously the GOP limited
the expected class action lawsuits for wrongful death and personal injury that will accompany predictable "accidents".

Otherwise, why would the GOP leave the airline companies "unprotected" from consumers?

4. That comes later
Just keep an eye out for a bill that will limit the amount that they can be sued for.

The GOP wants to kill the Airline business, but why? Airlines are big corporations too.. why would you kill a hen that lays golden eggs? Stupidity? .. most likely.

7. Terrorists? What's the difference?
Car bombs? IED's? OK, I'll give you that.
But aside from the violence, what is the difference from a motley group of extremists bent on disrupting our way of life to promote the ideals of a few?
By now, America has seen the true intent of the Republicans. Virtually no one in this country can say that the Republicans are on the side of the average working American. The Republicans/Teabaggers are all about propaganda, lies, fear-mongering, and smaller government when it comes to regulations, larger government when it comes to personal/human rights.
In Florida, my home state, and several other states, we are basically under siege from hateful corporatists who, in the name of "restoring fiscal sanity" or "promoting job growth" (a common lie for them) find the time to push their racist, restrictive, elitist agenda - all the while demonizing the people who actually do all the work!
At least with the foreign terrorists, you know what to expect. It's the blatant lying that's truly the difference.

9. They're trying to get all the money they can steal before the planet goes
into it's final death throes. They don't care that their greed brought this destruction on the planet, they don't care or understand that they can't take it with them and that they and their offspring need this plaent to continue living just like us peons do. They're idiots.

Yeah, I'm having a good day so far. ;(
