If President Obama is so successful... |
|
Why the need for a billion dollars to get re-elected? No, I am not happy with his job so far yet my vote will be for him. But fuck all if it doesn't take at least a quart of tequila to get this shit taste out of my mouth.
"Here is to hope" my ass. I hoped he would do what he said he would do. Way too much to ask apparently.
I guess I am finding myself further away from thinking we have a chance to turn things around in this country.
Meh...back to the Lounge for me, nothing changes.

1. In this case, I support that amount. We need his shiny object coattails to help Dems in Congress. |

To get the Obama voters who did Not vote last November off their asses and back to the polls.
And to vote for every D on the ballot/screen.

|
He's done more good in 2 years, then the previous 3 republican presidents did in 20 years as president.

Unemployment is at 16 percent here in Oregon. Two wars still raging with billions being spent every week and not ONE WORD about ending them any time soon. War on Terror is still a war on something. It's crap, all if it.
So much of what Obama said vs. what he has done is weighing heavily on me and my social circle of friends. We don't much talk about it any more. Its that blatant.

8. Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act |
|
The full repeal of DADT, a siginificant increase in Pell grants. Pretty much a singlehanded save of GM in America.
There's a few.

10. Sorry, those things are not |
|
what I am looking for. I didn't vote for him because of DADT or Lily or saving GM (which I think should have went under, private businesses need to fail if they cannot compete).
The Gitmo issue, the wars, he told me he would adress this issues. Nope. Capitulation, caving, bifuckingpartisanship, really?
I know there is no choice. But what the hell is this supposed to be?

5. In this country, large amounts of money are spent on political campaigns. |
|
If a candidate is not prepared to spend a lot of money, that candidate will likely lose.
This must be your first election cycle in this country. Welcome to the United States!

|
and pretty soon...nothing changes. It is all about keeping up with the gasbags and the Kochs? We both know I ain't sending a penny to anyone, nope. I can't rail against what I think is wrong and then contribute to it, that would make me a repuke...
I guess 2 billion will be the number in 2020? Wonderful.

11. Well we all should be advocating for strong campaign finance reform. |
|
But it won't be passed in time for 2012.
And it will never be passed by a Republican Congress.

So much power it seems. More than the President or the Senate. Straight out, we elect nothing but wimps.
My buddy came straight out and said he voted "for the angry black man' not some reticent little compromiser.

Of course there is the Supreme Court too. If it were passed they would probably overturn it.

13. Could you imagine Mr. Smith going to Washington these days? |
|
Hell, he probably wouldn't make it out of his front door before they chewed him up and spit him out...worse than they did in the movie. They would have a complete dossier of his life. Everything he ever did in private or public and destroy his ass within days.
Government, those in it and corporations have TAKEN the power from WE THE PEOPLE. Unless we do something about it, it will only get worse, if that's even possible. The ONLY thing that speaks in D.C. is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and corporations. LOTS OF MONEY.

Just like he out-financed everyone in the primaries and then in the GE election. Many people don't pay close attention to the issues, and the relentless campaign ads are for these type of voters.
