The morning after (and years after). The job of voters
Work for a campaign, send in money, make calls, talk to friends.

All of it leads up to election day. Then you win. Now what?

The same people who need us to get them there also need us to not only have their back and support their policies - but they also need us to keep them on their toes.

The work of the voter does not end the morning after the election. We promoted our candidates and our ideals, now the real work begins by tracking them, making sure they are earning not only their paycheck but our future support. We need to make sure they do the job we worked to get them hired for.

Praise when it is due, complaints when they don't do a good job.

And when that employee comes up for review/re-election what kind of person would we be if we just gave them a pass and didn't tell them that if they want to keep working for us they need to fix some things?

They work for us, we pay them, we expect some things, we can understand some compromise here and there.

THEY are asking us for support, money, time - and I don't see a problem asking them some hard questions. When they need us, they tell us what we want to hear - and that is fine as long as they deliver.

I don't agree with 100% of what Obama and some dems have done (or not done), on some things he has done his job.

NOW is the time, when re-election season is coming up, to hammer home the things we want to change and to trumpet the things that have worked and we like.

I am both a cheerleader and a critic, which I think is the job of the voter when it comes to their candidates.
