6. The HUGE problem with that...
is that it would work. It would work in a BIG way. Those in power don't want it to work. It would mean the end of easy money, the gravy train and the system of genetic inheritance of the nation's wealth.

7. and end the asinine "War on Drugs"
legalize at least pot, and tax the sale of it.

small change compared to cutting "Defense" spending, but still...I think it's something like $15-20 billion per year, at the federal level, not counting any cost of incarcerating the victims.

10. As usual everyone is diddling with the symptoms and doing noting to fix the problem.
The problem is corrupt politicians, mostly on the Right. All this other stuff stems from one root cause - corrupt politicians.
If we had reasonably honest politicians, there would be no wars*, no person hood for corporations. The MIC would be under control.
Our economy would be good, unemployment would be low. We would have Single Payer, Universal Health Care. No upside down mortgages.

* No wars because we would not be meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, as we have been doing for almost 200 years. Thus no need for the Military Industrial Complex.
