--and that includes ongoing war and intelligence operations. Service members and spooks will continue to work and to be paid.
As for the rest of the government, some people (including my daughter) are considered essential but are not in uniform, so will have to keep reporting for work BUT will not be paid; all non-essential will be furloughed -- no work, no pay.
Speaks pretty clearly to this country's skewed priorities, doesn't it?
