Some people have their head so far up the DLC's ass they cannot see a way out of the mess the US finds itself in.
Still, I'm unsure how electing an oligarch insider is supposed to frame Obama as an outsider? Also, she looks like a drown rat , styles her hair with mayonaisse and talks like she's eating cheese.
Seriously, these are trifling issues, but presentation counts for a lot in politics and she is woefully negligent in these areas. And the ones that matter!

34. She is a progressive on some very good issues |
|
but she is absolutely corrupt when it comes to issues that affect her personally.
She gets a lot of money from the sugar industry that refuses to allow normalization of trade with Cuba. So even though it is usually republicans who hate Cuba, and Democrats who have been trying to ease restrictions, she fights like hell to maintain the restrictions. She has a PAC that gives out a hell of a lot of money from the sugar industry to influence other dems to maintain that hate against Cuba.
She is personal friends with several republicans in Florida.
Because of those friendships, and because they support her position on some issues, like Cuba, she actively refuses to support democrats that campaign in Florida districts. It is her JOB to support the campaigns of democratic challengers against republican campaigns. So she is refusing to do her job. She is hurting the party. But that's considered okay, because they are only progressive democrats.
It is great that she has some really progressive beliefs. It would be better if she would stand firm and vote for them consistently.
She is well known for holding long grudges, and using her influence to undermine others. As someone who's job it was to provide funding for campaigns, and as an up and coming leader in the party, that is a very considerable problem.
How are we ever going to build a strong progressive wing in the party, or succeed in resisting the republicans as they push the political spectrum further to the right, if she uses her grudges and corrupt deals with campaign sponsors to undermine the progressive candidates who could help pull the political spectrum back to the left?
We have a desperate need of everyone who sincerely want to, and can support progressive issue and pull the spectrum back to the left. Anyone who undermines that is only helping the Republicans.

Thats what I like about the prospects of her appointment. She seems like she may be a lot better at "calling them out" than Tim Kaine was.

And I personally like him and I can't deny that I didn't cheer him on. But he doesn't know where to draw the fine line and he overreaches because of it. I won't say that he lost his seat completely because of this, but I am pretty sure it played a big part.

In general, she is pretty damned "Third Way" like the rest of the jokers, chumps, Pollyanna's, and crooks that make up most of our leadership.

28. Wasserman-Schultz!!! Just What The Democratic Party Needed... |
|
NOT! Looks like the DLC has regrouped, with a bit more REPUKE touch! WHY can't Democrats get their act together. This party has ALREADY caved like an accordion on almost everything, and now we have HER!!
WOW, it just gets harder and harder for me to stand up and be called a Democrat these days. No, I AM a Democrat, a real one. THEM? I have no idea anymore. Each time I think it can't get any worse, it does,
My husband asked me yesterday who I would vote for in 2012 and I REALLY didn't want to answer. I feel like I'm boxed into a corner or maybe out floating in the Gulf of Mexico without a life raft! THIS REALLY SUCKS!
