No doubt at all. Kloppenburg wins.
Look at the swings in most of the swing counties, especially Columbia, from 2010. This is a done deal.

1. Waukesha is still has many votes out. This is a very right wing area.
Edited on Tue Apr-05-11 10:27 PM by Dawson Leery
Still the swings in the rural areas are impressive. Several counties which McCain and Walker carried are going to Kloppenberg.

It's going to be close, but I think it looks good for Kloppenberg. I'm not popping the cork, yet, though.

14. we have optical scans, but they are put through diebold central tabulators
no one sees the result at the precinct before they are sent in. Central tabulators can be easily manipulated in less than 5 minutes, Bev Harris showed Howard Dean how in Hack the vote. Really simple, even idiot Rebublicans could figure it out.

We had 200% voter turnout in 16 out of 40 districts. Dems sued to see results. results were changed with an 'oops we don't know what happened'. Never has been cleared up. You REALLY have to keep an eye on these elections!

26. Parts of Milwaukee county are very red...
Remember that Scott Walker was first elected to public office as a Milwaukee County Executive, while the city itself is blue the surrounding suburbs are not. I suspect that the reason it looks like Prosser is over performing there is because the suburbs are reporting first, if the remaining precincts are in the city then I think we will see a big shift in the numbers.

Looks like Prosser is 6k ahead, with 83 precints left in heavily republican counties (based on current vote totals) and 46 leaning republican. There are 72 precincts remaining in heavily democratic counties and 17 in counties leaning democrats. Those numbers are a bit out of time now, I'm sure, but it's not looking encouraging ...

62. Wisconsin recount procedures
Any candidate voted for at any election may request a recount. The candidate must file a verified petition with the clerk or body with whom nomination papers are to be filed for that office. The petition should be filed not earlier than the time of completion of the canvass and not later than 5:00 p.m. on the third business day following the determination of the results of the election. The petition must specify each ward or municipality in which a recount is desired. An opposing candidate or any voter or other interested party may similarly file a petition for a recount in any or all of the remaining wards or municipalities.

If the difference between the votes cast for the leading candidate and those cast for the petitioner is not more than 0.5% of the total votes if more than 1,000 votes are cast, the petitioner is not required to pay a fee. Otherwise, the petitioner must pay the calculated or estimated fee at the time of filing.

65. HOLY CRAP, Waukesha 100% in, Milwaukee still largest uncounted votes
Edited on Wed Apr-06-11 12:22 AM by demwing
I think Kloppenburg may actually pull this off!

Largest # of uncounted votes come from Sauk, Dane, Milwaukee, Portage, Eau Claire, Dunn, Crawford, Ashland and Adams - all favoring Kloppenburg so far! Milwaukee is huge vote resource, Kloppenburg leads that area 57% to 43%.

Prosser has Buffalo, Calumet, Jefferson, Manitowoc, Marathon, Oneida, and Taylor - with only 13 precincts in each area except for Marathon, but Marathon is a fairly small area, and has been pretty well split between the two candidates. (16000 to 14000)

Waukesha was where Prosser surged, and its done. :)
