PETA Changes Name to PETNCA to Reflect New Focus

April 6, 2011

After a vote of the Board of Directors, PETA has changed its name to PETNCA. The new name, which is an acronym for People for the Ethical Treatment of Non-Carnivorous Animals, was selected to reflect our growing concern with the horrible, inhuman treatment received by innocent, plant eating animals from predatory species. The Board of Directors made this change due to growing concern among our contributing membership over blatant exposure of the carnivorous activity of Eagles shown on a web camera in Decatur, Iowa.

PETNCA deplores the murderous actions of these eagles in killing, dismembering, and feeding innocent plant-eating animals to its greedy, gape-mouthed offspring. So far, the camera has depicted the wanton slaughter and vicious dismemberment of a rabbit, a crow, a freshwater sea kitten, and a muskrat. Hundreds of thousands of human carnivores have watched this unconscionable display on the Internet, thus stimulating their own sick appetite for the consumption of meat. This must not continue.

PETNCA cannot stand by and watch this depiction of senseless slaughter of sentient species. In keeping with our belief that predation is a scourge on the planet when done by humans, we now include vicious, predatory, carnivorous animals in our campaign to wipe out the eating of animal species on Planet Earth. Join us in our battle against predation on May 13 in Hollywood, California. To help us make the point against carnivorism, you are invited to participate in a protest. If possible, please protest in a costume that depicts a non-carnivorous species. Optionally, you may also show your peaceful mammal nature by participating without clothing.

PETNCA thanks all of its contributing members for their generous donations and support. To donate to the new PETNCA, please visit our secure donation page: https://petnca.org/donate.htm

9. What would PETA have us feed lions in captivity?
And not captivity because humans wish to see lions, but the kind for the safety of the animal, say at some type of animal sanctuary.

Really, would they make them eat veggies or something?

12. Lions, like humans, would be healthier if they were fed tofu
and fresh vegetables. They needn't slaughter helpless, large-eyed herbivores to feed them. In fact, the planet would be much better off without lions and other vicious predators.

23. Felids are obligate carnivores - they must eat meat to live. And lions are awesome creatures.
King of the Jungle, you know.

Cats MUST have meat to survive - all the felids - all the way down to the domestic housecat.

Don't hate on the kitties.

32. Now you know, so throw those kitties a fresh slab of something room temperature
and I sent the info with a smile on my face

I've always found the diet requirements of cats interesting - they have a whole different digestive system.

Now, excuse me, I have to clean up a hairball. :P

34. If I didn't feed them what they wanted, I'd be afraid to sleep
at night. And hairballs. It's just another means of control for cats. I'm sure my kitties say to each other, "Watch this, dude. GAK." "Now watch the stupid human get a paper towel and wipe it up."

Kitty humor.

36. LOL Hairballs around here are always directly in the walking path of bed to bathroom
and usually appear mysteriously in the middle of the night

When they do happen during waking hours, that unmistakable gakking noise gets the humans running: "She's puking, she's puking!!!!!"

:puke:

yeah, I think it's mostly for their bemusement

38. Recs and unrecs don't matter.
The thread was designed to make some people laugh. Not everyone finds the same things amusing. It doesn't matter. As long as some people laughed, the thread was a success. I can't imagine why anyone would recommend or unrecommend this thread in the first place.

Who cares. It's just a joke. You laugh or you don't.
