People are scared to death about jobs, retirement, access to health care, housing, and inflation in food and gas. The mouth breathers will always go for this stuff, but the other 70% of voters are more than likely to be driven away by this tactic. Besides, a majority of Americans support Gay civil unions, if not marriage as well.
