Here is the Dig
Edited on Wed Apr-06-11 04:33 PM by Bandit
Last night on the Daily show Jon was talking about Paul Ryan's Budget Proposal and how Republicans want to cut Sixty Billion and Democrats want to cut Thirty Billion. He made it sound as if anyone that wouldn't want to compromise at forty five billion was an idiot...This is a set up for Democrats to lose. Thirty Billion is too much to cut IMO, unless it is from Defense spending and Oil subsidies..So to get along we must compromise and accept draconian cuts in all social programs while allowing increases in defense and tax cuts for business and the wealthy..This is how it is going to end up and every Democrat will be patting themselves on the back saying what a good arrangement was arrived at..We be fucked and this is ONLY the first round..

1. There should be no cuts to social programs at all
The economy is going south again. We should be talking about more stimulus, not cuts. If there absolutely need to be cuts then yes, we should cut military spending and raise the top marginal tax rate.

2. Why aren't the President and Democrats saying "what about taxes -
let's bring in more revenue" everytime a Republican says spending cuts? Ten years of tax cuts have drained the purse - no amount of spending cuts can fill it. When will the President say what he said, what we thought he meant, when he was campaigning? The 400 new billionaires in America, along with all the old ones, need to step up to the table and show they care about the Country that gave them all their wealth.
