Transocean executives donate safety bonuses to rig victims' families |
|
http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/04/05/gulf.spill.bonuses/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnnTop executives of the company that owned the Deepwater Horizon oil rig announced Tuesday they will donate their safety bonuses to the families of the 11 workers killed in the April 2010 explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.
The announcement follows criticism of a Transocean Ltd. financial filing that claimed 2010 was its "best year" in safety.

4. Wait, wait, wait.....this smells like a publicity stunt (although I could be wrong) |

Do the math. Look at the bonuses that the exec's got. Look at what they are actually giving the families and THEN DECIDE if this is indeed SUCH A GRAND GESTURE.
Things, especially when money is involved, usually aren't what they appear on the surface.
My two cents (sense).
