GOP lawyer drafts Obama impeachment

A prominent libertarian constitutional lawyer and civil libertarian has drafted an article of impeachment against President Obama over his attack on Libya, throwing down a legal gauntlet that could be picked up by some Congressional Republicans

Bruce Fein, a former Reagan administration official in the Department of Justice and chairman of American Freedom Agenda writes in his 15-page argument of Obama's course that "Barack Hussein Obama has mocked the rule of law, endangered the very existence of the Republic and the liberties of the people, and perpetrated an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor."

Fein is a small-government conservative who worked on the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and also called for the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, and his work doesn't represent the Republican Party line. But it comes as some Republicans on the Hill, led by Senator Rand Paul, object vociferously to Obama's decision to strike targets in Libya without Congressional authorization.

"He's been more bold than any other president," said Fein, who said Obama has failed to secure congressional approval for his military action in a much more brazen way than previous administrations.

but he is a strict constitutionalist and applies the interpretation equally.

Perhaps we need more strict constitutionalists around to assure we the people that their bidding is being done and to elevate the status of the Constitution again to more than just a piece of paper.

There is a wealth of information out there.

This man is NOT an enemy of the state. This man expects the Constitution to be followed to the letter.
As it was intended.

I have NO problem with someone that has a differing opinion than mine. While Fein and I are diametrically opposite on the political spectrum, we are in unison about calling out WHOEVER does wrong--no matter which party they belong to. The problems I have come when different measuring sticks are used to justify wrongdoings and approving that which comes of their own party yet abhorring the same when the other party does it. IF we are to take our country back from the corporations who have us in a chokehold and the politicians who gave them the tools to harm us, we must understand we are ALL Americans--I just happen to be an American who is a liberal and Fein just happens to be an American who is a conservative. We both want the same for this country although we both have very different ideas of how to do it--and we both feel that regardless of who is in power, the same rules apply to everyone in governance.

Fein is 10 years late with this. I wish to Goddess that he had pressed this when Bush persued the illegal invasion of Iraq. I hate hate hate that Obama has put himself in this position, but damnit, executive war powers need to be curtailed at long last.
