Georgia man pleads guilty to tattooing 3-year-old son; tot's tat said 'DB' -- for 'Daddy's Boy'

A Georgia man was let off with a slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to tattooing his 3-year-old son.

A judge in Floyd County, Ga., ruled on Monday that Eugene Ashley must pay $300 and serve 12 months probation for giving his son a tattoo on his shoulder that said "DB" - short for "Daddy's Boy" - in 2009.

Ashley was arrested about a year later after an official from the Department of Child Services visited his house and spotted the tatted up tyke, the Rome News-Tribune newspaper reported.

It's illegal in Georgia to give a tattoo to someone younger than 18.

He mentioned trying to pierce her ears, too. I replied with the moral qualms of piercing a child instead of the child making that decision for herself - and I don't think kids have any business wearing earrings, thongs, or push-up bras.

That story is the Emperor wanted to learn what was the natural language of people, not the language a child learned from its parents, but the innate language of people. To achieve this he had mother's nurse their babies but were forbidden to speak to them, so the babies would NOT learn their mother's tongue, but speak only the innate language of man. The result of that experiment was simple, all the babies died do to the lack of interaction with their mothers.

That experiment (There is questions if the experiment ever occurred, but it was reported by the start of the Renaissance) is often cited by modern research scientists as to the need for Children to interact with their mothers (and as their age, the rest of their family, and then the friends of their family, then their own friends). It is part of being Human.

This also leads to the fact, what your parents tell you and thus what you take in is also part of being human. Thus we are all products of Childhood brainwashing, for it is part of being human. We MUST learn how to interact with people we live with and to a degree that means incorporating what they believe as out own beliefs. You may reject what parents teach and tell their children as "brainwashing", but it is part of being human.

And I tend to agree, but....

What I am referring to specifically is religious brainwashing, or indoctrination. I encourage religious education, the teaching ABOUT religion and what the parents BELIEVE, but not the indoctrination of children into that religion before the reach the age of reason.

This story about the tattoo.... the father is douche for doing that, no doubt, but it will only leave a physical mark, not an everlasting psychological one (maybe it will, but hopefully you see my point).

Is this a trend of some sort. We had a local man do that to his child and they found him not guilty. Community values don't you know.
Hope this does not spread - the quality of the work is very poor to say nothing of the pain the poor kid had to endure.
