Harry Reid is spot on (re: the shutdown)
In his presser, he says the issues are no longer about money, but about social and political issues.

Women's health

Clean air.

The teabaggers are a real danger to this country and good and decent people everywhere. A pox on them and a pox on the people who voted for them.

3. Durbin too. This is exactly the presser that I expected.
It's basically a big old "fuck you" to the extremist teabaggers.

9. I love Dick Durbin, unfortunately my other senator is Mark Kirk
one of the biggest crooks I've ever met, and I have met quite a few old time mobsters who I now have killed people.

8. Hope this is a wake up call for all Democrats
The republicans are not leaders, they are "tools" for the billionaires.

10. As long as he holds strong and doesn't give in, I'm with Harry.
Bottom line: the Democrats didn't pass a bill last year knowing that there was a strong possibility of a Republican/Teabagger takeover. As long as that is true, sadly the Teabaggers will have an alibi.
