Delahunt joins law firm as special counsel

BOSTON —

Former Congressman William Delahunt has joined a Pittsburgh-based law firm as special counsel and started work in the Boston office of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott LLC on Friday, according to the company.

Delahunt will assist the firm on regulatory issues in the areas of health care, financial services, energy and environmental matters, the company announced Monday.

In March, Delahunt, in his capacity as chair of the Delahunt Group, signed on to represent the 2,000-member Mashpee Wampanoag tribe, which has long been in the mix as a potential casino developer, at the federal and state levels.

In February, the Prime Policy Group, a Washington D.C.-based policy and government affairs firm helmed by chairman Charlie Black and president and CEO R. Scott Pastrick, announced a business development alliance with Delahunt focused on advising American companies about establishing themselves in foreign countries and as a connection to the U.S. market.
