A vignette of Out-Of-Touchitude |
|
Mrs. Greenspan was holding forth on the shutdown in a "conversation" with Barbara Lee (D-CA).
Mrs. Greenspan observed that Senators would have to push their own elevator buttons as the elevator operators would be furloughed. Ha. Ha. Ha. See how clever I am?
Rep Lee, was very quick to shoot back that these elevator operators are people who will be out of jobs because of the teabaggers and their hostages, the repubican party.
Mrs. Greenspan then went into her recent Alzheimer mode and stuttered something face saving but unintelligible.
It must be tough being you, huh, Andrea?

1. Elevator operators are people? |
|
That would be news to Mrs. Greenspan, as the notion that the help in her life might be actual human beings has never quite entered her silly little head. Whether it's drivers, or make-up assistants, or studio help, or cocktail servers, they're just lumps of something or other. Actual personhood is reserved for those at or above her station.

3. Elevator operators should be out of a job regardless |

They serve no purpose other than to reinforce the elevator rider's sense of self-importance. Total waste of money.

4. Reassign them to something else, then lock out Congress' elevators altogether. |
|
Leave them there for any disabled members or visitors, and let the rest of the lazy bastards walk for a change. Most of them need some honest exercise, anyway, and getting on your knees and standing up again several times a day doesn't really count as "exercise" in my book.
Sorry. I've never had much of any prerequisite awe for these asscarrots, and I find I have less and less of it as I'm getting older. Although I admit that one of my previous suggestions for saving money -- by serving fish head stew in the member's cafeteria -- might have been a little over-the-top.
