Nadler: GOP budget would ‘take us back to the 19th century’
Source: RawReplay
By Sahil Kapur

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) had some choice words for the ten-year Republican budget proposal developed by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI).

“This is truly a budget to take us back to the 19th century in every way,” the New York Democrat said Wednesday during a press conference. “No more Medicare, no more Medicaid… Don’t count on government for much help in education.”

Watch the video, uploaded and circulated to reporters by Nadler’s office.

2. Isn't that their goal? They all wax nostalgic about the days of the Robber Barons and child labor.

3. Reid needs to take a lesson from Nadler
Reid was utterly useless. If that news conference from Reid was leadership, we're going to continue to lose.
Republicans are boldly on-message.
Dems ... well need to take a lesson from Nadler.

of this he is an adept. The Peter Principle would have applied if he had become president.

6. Hey - Emily Litella - we're talking about Rep. JERROLD NADLER,
NOT RALPH NADER!

Unless of course, you were just being sarcastic!

10. There was a reason that the late 19th century...
was known as 'The Gilded Age.' Most of us are well aware of what this indicated. For those that do not, google: the gilded age.

For those who want further insight, let me recommend Mark Twain's Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court. Much in that story is about today's manipulation and abuse of both wealth and power--includes a short bit on 'buying power'.

Twain's new book has some pertinent comments that fit this present time almost perfectly.
