Dear DU, this WI SC election is not the totality of our fight. It's a piece of it. |
|

Please stop acting like "it's over" based on the outcome of this race. If there's one thing you guys should know after the last 8 weeks, Wisconsin Dems will not give up. If there was fraud, we'll find it. If there was incompetence, we'll expose it to the light of day.
And if in the end Klopp loses, we fucked some shit up. This was a non-partisan spring election with ONE statewide race. We We lifted Kloppenburg up from a THIRTY POINT DEFICIT she held 8 weeks ago. To get it CLOSE to 50/50 is a fucking miracle.
Also, it was NOT 7k votes "found", stop saying that. It's 14,000 with a net gain of 7.7k for Prosser. That was a whole city. If it were blue, I'd want them certified, too. It has been confirmed by a Democratic observer that the 14k was missing from #'s given to media Tuesday.
The claim is that the City of Brookfield's #'s were not in the #'s given to media (mistakenly omitted from the Access database on her PC). Unofficial #'s. During certification, they caught it yesterday and contacted GAB. Since then, they've been counting and verifying - confirming the gain of 14,314 votes. My Democratic CD chair spoke to the Democratic rep who was overseeing.
Should it have happened? no Is the clerk an incompetent asshole? yes Fraud? Doesn't look that way Should we keep looking? yes
We have 8 recalls in the works, 2 filed. We're not done and this election was not the totality of our fight. It is one piece.
I am not a troll who doesn't give a shit so also kindly stop those implications. This is *MY* fight, *MY* state, *MY* county. I give a shit.
-Peace A proud Waukesha County Democrat

11. I'm trying. If there's fraud, I want it screamed from the mountaintops. |
|
If it was a legitimate incompetent mistake, I cannot support disenfranchising an entire fucking city because she's an asshole.

There seems to be some question as to the percentage of that city's population that voted, a rather remarkable sudden increase in population(?) and participation at the ballot box. Trying to find the place where I read that. . .
Admire your determination, feel your frustration, we're with you.

13. I just don't understand your vehemence that it will all be alright if |
|
we just chill the hell out.
I'm guessing that it's because you don't want the air to run out of the balloon yet. You're afraid we'll give up the fight on the next batch of important objectives if we become discouraged by the election results?
It's also my fight as a citizen of this great state, and I also want to keep the energy high. I hope it wasn't me you thought was calling you a troll. I just happen to appear to feel a little more outraged by the appearances of it all. I suppose I should envy your cool head and ability to keep your eyes on the prize. An impartial judge on the Supreme Court was a pretty nice prize though. :)

14. It's not "vehemence that it will all be alright", it's letting the facts work themselves out. |

As I said just upthread: If there's fraud, I want it screamed from the mountaintops. If it was a legitimate incompetent mistake, I cannot support disenfranchising an entire fucking city because she's an asshole.

It's easy to cry "fraud" when the results are not what one wants.
It's hard to accept, and publicly defend, the results in such a situation when there is such a disappointing twist of fate.
This whole situation does sound crazy, at least and certainly does raise suspicions....That makes it even harder to take an objective view. So your level head is appreciated.
Anyway, keep up the good fight.
