Over 18,000 votes cast in Waukesha County for ONLY Supreme Court
Edited on Fri Apr-08-11 01:16 AM by jsamuel
Based on their own document here:

http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/uploadedFiles/Media/PDF/Elected_Officials/County_Clerk/Election_Results/20110215_unofficial_results_summary.pdf

125,000+ votes were cast for Supreme Court in Waukesha County. The next most voted for race had a total of about 106,800 votes. That leaves just over 18,000 votes for only the Supreme Court race.

18,000/125,000 = 14.4%

A Republican was complaining about fraud in Dane County on election night because there were some 10,000 ballots cast for only the Supreme Court race. However, there were a total of 182,000 votes cast in Dane County.

10,000/182,000 = 5%

There were about 172,000 ballots cast for Dane County Executive, confirming the 10,000 number.

If the Republican had his numbers right, that would mean that Waukesha County had three times the number of SC race only ballots. If you took the number down to 5%, there would have only been 6000 such votes in Waukesha County. That means a loss of approximately 12,000 votes, pretty close to the number of votes that were added for Brookfield today.

6. I'd like to see an independent audit/polling commissioned by the DNC.

The Waukesha votes seem way to red when you take a cursory look at the other counties...most seem to ranger between 60/40 and 40/60 split. Dane is huge blue, but that's easily explainable. What's the "no-brainer reason for Waukesha being deep red? I'd conduct a poll of all registered voters. Ask them-

(1) Did you vote?
(2) What is your Party ID?
(3) Who did you vote for?
(4) Why did you vote for your candidate (probably a multiple choice type question).

Those that refuse to answer, assume Republican/DNV. Those that answer Democrat....ask them if they'd sign an affidavit to that effect. I see no reason why a Democrat wouldn't be happy to participate in validating the election results. I see no reason why a Republican would want to provide false information if that's going to make a stronger case for election theft. And wouldn't it be interesting if a significant % of registered Republicans signed an affidavit attesting to the fact they they voted for a Democrat? The easiest votes to steal are the votes of the people who may not be voting for their Party's candidate.

The benefits would be:

(1) It would show the DNC is really interested in protecting our franchise's right to have their vote counted.
(2) It would validate the results, in which case we can at least feel better that the system is working and that we obviously still have work to do on messaging. Or
(3) it will contradict and invalidate the results. Not legally of course, but morally. Maybe shame the guy to resign his office. And that would further underscore the image of a corrupt and unethical Party that is criminally hijacking our democracy. Might help build the case for real election reform and a possible criminal investigation. Certainly wouldn't help Republicans recruit new voters for future elections, I'd think.

PS On edit. Can you imagine how freaked out Republicans would be? How would they spin their outrage? No problem...hell, I'd offer to share the results with them.

3. I'd like to know more about Waukesha County
Dane Country was really lopsided in favor of Kloppenberg, but that's pretty explainable given the educational hub and State capital. But Waukesha just seemed way too lopsided in Pressners favor. If you look around at other counties, the % were far more closer, in the range of 40/60 ~ 60/40. I'm really curious as to why there seems to be such a heavy Republican population to the exclusion of Democrats. Are they all multi-millionaires there? Is this Pressner's home district? Is it the water? I'd love to see an indepth analysis as to what and why this County is so deep red.

I'm curious to know how voting results compares with the Party ID on voter registration for this County - was the vote about the same...higher...lower?

11. No, it's NOT Prosser's home county. He is from Appleton. It is the...
...wealthiest - and reddest - county in the State.

14. We're Sensenbrenner territory. Very red suburban Milwaukee
The lopsided leading WAY right is the norm. Yes, there are a lot of millionaires. Look at the demographics of Hartland and Chenequa for examples.

15. Waukesha County is one of the reddest in Wisconsin
It's west of Milwaukee and one of the counties surrounding the city where the well-to-do have gravitated. The metro area is unfortunately quite segregated. Waukesha County is upscale and Republican as a whole. It's a large part of the reason why Sensenbrenner always wins. The Democratic Party there is quite active and runs a candidate in almost every race, although they rarely win. By the way, Prosser is from Appleton in northeast Wisconsin, not Waukesha.

republicans would have been likely to vote on.

10. Less votes for down ballott races is the norm
in every election as I pointed out to wingnuts today. In both Dane and Waukesha the other R v D races were a given so 'x' amount of people don't bother for one reason or another. I would assume 'x' can be a varying amount depending on the other races and issues.

13. Seems odd that people would go to the trouble of going to vote
then just vote in one category - for one race. In MAdison the mayoral race was very close, so wasn't a given. Interesting. If these numbers aren't BS, some people must be going to vote only because of one issue or candidate that is important to them.
