Kathy Nikolaus, a long-time state worker of WI, has been known to have made errors
concerning vote-counting in the past, but was granted immunity from prosecution
when five others were not. She was working for the Republicans.

1. Funny how so many Republican women are flummoxed by technology

BTW - is it me, or do the local Fox affiliates seem to be evenhanded and aggressive about reporting the news? They seem to turn up here fairly often reporting on local stories that aren't covered by other outlets.

On another subject - isn't the real problem in Wisconsin not the vote counting, but the apparent acceptance that the judges will rule based on party lines rather than the law?

4. Just look at our U.S. Supreme Court. Since the Neocons have come into the
majority, how many times have the members NOT voted according to party line?
Few expect the state supreme courts to be any different.

Nice to see you. From the screen name, I've automatically assumed that you were a male. :)

5. ? I'm a little confused - that's a photo of Rosemary Woods demonstrating
how the 18 minute gap in the Watergate Tapes came to be.

7. OMG! Is that an IBM Selectric?
I loved those typewriters... 30 FREAKING YEARS AGO!!! And a massive reel-to-reel dictaphone? Holy cowbell! I haven't seen one of those in forever! My recorder fits in my hand!

And yes, I agree that your second point is the most important... and the scariest!

2. She didn't make "errors" she was involved in illegal activity.
"She was given immunity from prosecution in a 2002 criminal investigation into illegal activity."

You don't give immunity for errors. She was given immunity for her illegal and criminal activities.

10. You are right. And is she dumb enough to repeat the same illegal activity once more?

She got away with it the first time.

15. She must be very optimistic to expect to get away with unlawful
activities every time -- IF she has done the same thing again, of course.

6. Years ago, certain counties in Ohio were dominated by a few rich
locals. Given that Ms.Nikolaus was elected as County Clerk after being forced to resign her state job, I'm wondering what goes on in Waukesha County.

16. Possibly something in the line of pay-back for past favors? Neocons
believe in the power of money, and for too many people they are right.

19. My thoughts too. She worked for the "winner" right?
seriously, so many are quick to lay down as if what they say is valid at all.

20. Come to think of it, you are most likely correct. She had done
the same thing in the past.

This can also be seen as a warning of what Repubs.will do to the coming
presidential election of 2012. We ain't seen nothin' yet?

Why are Diebold machines still being used? Dems must be out of their minds!
