So..the republicans are going to demonize Planned Parenthood
Because...they are THE ONLY REASON nobody is going to get paid.

Democrats only care about abortion--they don't care about anything else and they are willing to shut down the government for it.

This is what is making the rounds.

I don't see a cogent response for this from our side. It makes me sick. And in the end, win or lose, WOMEN will pay the price because regardless of how things go down, the damage to PP has been done.:(

1. really?
I thought that the GOP was going along with the "spending cuts" excuse. I don't see the GOP gaining much traction on this issue and even some ultra-conservative Senators like Toomey and Coburn (hell hath frozen over!) are starting to publicly question having this be part of the budget battle. Hang in there.

5. I just heard the talking points spewed by some vicious evil republican woman on the radio
1. PP gets $1,000,000 a day in funding.

2. PP showed a $67 million profit last year (even though they are non-profit)

3. Abortions are paid for with federal funds.

4. There are THOUSANDS of other entities that offer free medical services.

Sigh.

Nobody rebutted ANY of this.

2. The good thing is that Planned Parenthood
is very highly favorable by many women because so many have had to deal with their services over the years.

4. Republicans want to eliminate WOMENS HEALTHCARE, period
They might try pinning it on PP, but they really want to deny women's ability to access healthcare (because, as you know, they have major hangups about women & their sexuality).

I won't let their language sully the good name of PP that has been providing those svcs for almost 100 yrs

7. The proper response is that the Republicans are lying their asses off!
Because lies is all they have! It is illegal to use Fed funds to pay for abortions... it's called the Hyde Amendment, and it was passed in 1976 FCOL!!!

They are lying! That should be what we say, because it's the truth.

9. Dana Bash has been
saying for two days now that even the old time repubs want to get rid of PP.
Of course articles have quoted old time repubs as saying they do not want this and want it dropped from negotiations.

Dems need to come out strong in support of women's health and the value of PP. Women are more than half of the population. This is a no-brainer.
