1. I don't want the shut-down
But I don't want the repubs to pass their shitty plans.

2. Other: Meh.
It's theater. Yes, it will cause trouble, but it does that when it's running, too, so it's just a different kind of trouble.

3. Other: Little choice unless we intend to roll over on command forever.
They should have been stood up to long ago and this budget should have been passed before the election but it is what it is now.

5. I did Yes, but could have done OTHER.
I don't really want the shut down, but unless the Republicans will scale back their demands I believe it is necessary.

6. Not a genuine word on the potential shutdown from any politician.
I'm not alarmed. It'll get taken care of.

8. I don't want a shutdown, however in no way do I think
Republicans have acted in good faith or even attempted to avoid one. They are in charge of the house. If they can't pass a budget they know is likely to signed by the president (one of their chief jobs) then they suck at their job. It is not as if this is the first time EVER one political party controlled the house and another controlled the white house. Yet all those others seem to get this done (cept ok the stupid Newt guy). If the White House was asking for CRAZY things I might be interested in Republicans point of view at all. But the president has agreed to the value they want just not the specific totals. At that point I shrug. This is what every other normal budget negotiation is like. Republicans can pretend Obama is some how radical or unusual, but in no way do I see. THEY ARE CRAZY AND DISHONEST and worse, very bad at their job. In 2012 they should lose their job. Period.

9. Other: I don't see how the issues with the budget will ever be resolved, with or without a shutdown.

10. I went with other. Yes, teabag obstruction should be addressed, but both parties will be hurt here.
Not to mention the voters and the nation. On the one hand, good for Dems' ability to show GOP incompetence. Bad in every other way, especially the one which allows them to blame our failures for it, too.

11. It's going to be pretty bad for Alaska's economy
which has over 17,000 federal employees (quite a few for our state's population). I think I heard that another 68,000 will be indirectly affected because of federal contracts, etc.

But if it helps show that the Republicans are lying when they say they care about creating jobs, then I'm all for it.
