7. Lawrence O'Donnell just read a tweet from the tea party that Boehner betrayed them and will be
primaried, so he definitely doesn't win.

he has been and will continue to be well paid for his efforts, in office or not. He certainly isn't the loser on this one.

10. It would help if independents...
...and even self-identified Democrats, didn't poll roughly two-to-one for 'compromise' v. 'hold fast, even if there's a shutdown'.

If the followers lead, the leaders will follow. Here the followers aren't exactly leading, are they?

Yeah, 'Elect better Democrats' -- but how about 'Better Democrats, period'?

11. The Tea Party with their host the Mad Hatter.
Anybody want to photoshop a face of Boehner onto a scene of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party in "Alice In Wonderland". I think it could be appropriate. Alice could stand in for Planned Parenthood.

12. Nobody, really
We gave in to a lot of cuts, and the Tea Party won't be happy either. I guess maybe if you are a "centrist" you win.

14. What economic and rider concessions did the Republicans make?

Higher taxes for corporations and the rich or serious cuts in military spending?

Who will be mainly impacted by the cuts and riders passed.

Us?

Big Business?

The rich?

Wall Street?

When we answer that question we'll know who won the first round in the budget battle.

19. Party of no gets both short and long term benefits
Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 12:02 AM by high density
First they continue to control the debate on the debt/deficit into the vote on the debt ceiling. They'll likely be able to extract even more concesisons from Obama at this time.

The GOP feels they'll be better off in 2012 if the economy worsens, which less federal spending will obviously help facilitate. They can vote to kill the economy while simultaneously blaming Obama or Democratic policies for the problem.

23. Obama probably won by scoring points with independents, probably reid too-boehner lost because the
baggers will have none of his bullshit, and he won't gain with independents since the GOP has been on their nutcase charge across the nation attacking workers.
