Our "Commons" will be cut more and more...

...and not one cent will be cut from the Imperialist corporate war funding.
Nor will one more penny be raised on the revenue side from millionaires and billionaires.

I guess we better just get use to it...or...what???

1. Are you referring to something specifically?
Cultural commons, or . . .? Am I missing something?

5. Gotcha.
I see commons invoked most often in IP debates, so wasn't sure if something new had gone down there.

4. The whole notion of the common good is being steadily whittled away
Whatever aspect of The Commons is affected

6. Do you think this is because people no longer see themselves as part of a self-governing citizenry?

Seems like many people my age (22) feel disconnected from any sense of duty toward or responsibility for the way their country governs. The Government has become a monolithic entity, to them, and not something they have any stake or role in. Wonder if this disconnect is part of what's feeding the privatization craze.

7. 30 years of unrelenting propaganda
When I was young (Sorry) there were certain basic beliefs about shared social responsibility that were the basic default attitude....not that it was perfect, but there were certain basic values that were widely accepted.

But several decades of propaganda have had the effect of lowering the bar much further in terms of the common good.

There were many liberals and progressives who tried to counter that. UNfortunately there has not been enough advocacy from the Democratic Party to counter the propaganda for selfishness.

3. Boner did say that it was good for "Job Creators". Not creating jobs.
