I'm not at all surprised that Free Republic echos DU sentiments.
Fundamentally people here don't trust government, either. Fundamentally people here also by default don't believe or trust politicians, just differing in who they think is pulling the strings. A lot of people in both places see world events as the visible expression of massive, hidden, powerful forces -- just differing on who they are.
All of which should be -- but never is -- cause for some reflection.

we have with the Tea Party - not the overall corporate funded, racially motivated structure that has become the dog and pony show the media salivates over whenever 2 or more are gathered...
But the underlying cause of a bunch of their anger isn't really any different than ours - except that a big difference is how outside money has shaped their perception and mis-directed their anger.
We're both angry that our 'representatives' simply don't represent us. We all rally, wave the pom poms, raise money and votes to send someone to DC and watch them work for corporations instead of us.
