A soldier in the class war
Are you a soldier or a spectator?

It's difficult to deny that we are not in the middle of a class war. The aim of the other side is to tear down and destroy everything we have worked for and won in the last 75 years.

We can pretend that it is otherwise but, look at what is happening around you. They are cutting every program that benefits the people and rewarding the wealthy. It is not a unique time in history. It has always been this way.

What can we do about it? The first thing we need to do, in my opinion, is to make sure the people we elect to public office understand the nature of the war and are willing to fight for our side. They need to speak up and educate the masses.

The class war is on.

2. Well we DO have some advantages........
Because the capitalism of the last 50/60 years has been built on a lot of credit, that means that we have a small advantage there. If and when it gets down to it, stop paying nonessential bills. One month of a "mortgage strike" by a million people would do a great deal of damage to the Wall St. banks.

Wildcat and general strikes haven't even been tried yet and that's always been the working class's main weapon in the past. The withholding of labor. More and larger street demonstrations.

Organize, organize, organize, so that we can pull these things off. I've gotten involved in MoveOn stuff locally lately and one thing that I've noticed about it is that I now know about EVERYTHING going on, even with OTHER local and national progressive orginizations.

ALL of these things are part of fighting back. There are other means too, but it's probably too early to try those until we try the above.
