1. As they shouldn't

She IS the winner (leading), until proven otherwise. And they will have a tough time proving otherwise, a recount is going to expose more good news imo.

4. The Democratic vice-chair of the county confirmed the 14k were not in the #'s released to media
THIS is why I think the case of the Brookfield votes WAS a mistake. A dumb incompetent mistake. They HAD to know it would launch a full investigation.

GAB is investigating with a fine-tooth comb. The Kloppenburg campaign is investigating with an even finer tooth comb. And there will be a recount in which every ballot is looked at with human eyeballs.

If this asshole wanted to throw the election to Prosser, this is about the stupidest way she could have done it. Anyone with access to city and county vote totals and a calculator would discover it in 5 minutes once the error was announced.

BUT it MUST and WILL be thoroughly investigated. Incompetence to that degree is as bad as fraud. That woman is responsible for *MY* vote and I want answers and I want a fine-tooth comb to see if she's made other mistakes and/or actually acting nefariously. This alleged mistake has opened her up to a deep deep dive that I am sure she didn't want. If she so much as forgot to cross a "t", we'll find it.

8. PeaceNikki,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for all your postings and information during this horror-show. You've done a remarkable service to the Board and thus to the Citizenry.

Secondly, I would like to posit that asking whether an individual is "in on" something is a valid question and I'll give you my answer FWIW: Who the hell ever knows? People can be unwitting dupes, not too bright, or misled too easily and these folks can possess a naivete which is unexpected. They can also be afraid...very afraid. Of what, you may ask. Who knows. Why did Kerry/Edwards promise to look into Ohio's vote count the night before and then just concede quietly the next day? What was said to them? And by whom? I for one don't believe it was benign.

9. Firstly... thanks. :)
Secondly, people here on DU keep pointing to Kerry or Gore... look instead at the Franken race for a better comparison. We won't give up. This is the awesome upper midwest.

Here in the East we have our former mayor Eddie Rendell telling Gore to just 'give it up'. Great guy. :sarcasm:

Thirdly...there's been a lot of kerosene dumped in your state...if there's a spark, it's gonna make Libya look like Disneyland.

On edit: k and r.

13. I'm not so sure. Remember Linda Tripp who betrayed MonicaL
Lewinsky? If it weren't for her, the Neocons would never have been able to
impeach Clinton. But when it was all over, Linda Tripp became known as a
betrayer. This was something very negative for the Neocons. And when Linda
lost her job, no corporation would even offer her one. None of them would
touch her with a ten-foot pole.

I remember reading at that time, "The betrayer was betrayed by an even bigger
betrayer."

You remember how Bush treated the injured veterans when they returned home,
don't you? He decreased their benefits. Once you are of no further use to
a sociopath, he drops you flat -- no matter how much you have sacrificed.
That's part of the personality of a sociopath. Gratitude is not one of
their strong points.

Read the message to which you responded again.

"A dumb incompetent mistake." " Incompetence to that degree is as bad as fraud."

What I am defending is an entire city's voting COUNTING and the integrity of my Democratic County vice-chair.

If Dennis Kucinich personally hand-counted the votes, and Al Gore called every person to verify that's how they voted, it will still always be considered "stolen" here.
