1. It is a truly sad state of affairs....
...and it is one that is not limited to the conservative side of the spectrum, I am sorry to say.

2. we are in this situation in a general sense. i fear putting stickers on my car becaue
of the vitriol. we are supposed to be a free country, but it seems we are only free if we agree with their side. It seems the asking about if they were a teacher or unemployed and 'get a job' were ways to somehow discredit the effort. these people were NOT hired to do what they are doing. i am confident had they said it outright they would not have been elected. and if they said that was what they were going to do and got elected and then did it it would not be as big a deal as the bait and switch they pulled.

3. Mr. Fincke's experience mirrors mine....

...I was also collecting Grothman recall signatures outside my local polling place.

I was called a "communist", a "fucking asshole", a "leach", a "destroy of the capitol" and told "that's not how we do things here" and "you're ruining it for everybody".

I was told to "go home if you know what's good for you".

Their intimidation tactics didn't work. I collected 65 signatures that day. Lots of pleasant people, who thanked me for being there, were more than willing to sign.

I even had one woman tell me that she'd like to sign, but her husband would lose his job if his employers found out that she did.

(edited for spelling)

5. this would make a great reality show ... too bad the MSM wouldn't pick it up ...
have hidden cameras follow around people pushing recall petitions of Republican elected officials ... and tape the responses of all the "nice, friendly" people who decline signing the petitions ...

7. But it could be put on youtube...just an idea...
There is a group of older women in MN who go out and talk to people or stage essentially performance art and videotape it. They are great and I always try to watch their efforts. They have some great ideas and they make people think. I love the interviews where they ask people questions.

6. This is very very sad...
What kind of people are these. Do they know that they are only hurting themselves. How can anyone be so so so ignorant of reality. 1+1=2..."NOT 11"
