 Vote on Killing Bears with Dogs - Only in Wisconsin!!
On Monday, April 11, across the state of Wisconsin, the DNR will collect votes on new regulations that include the following:

1. To allow widespread hunting and trapping in state parks.
2. To kill 350 of the state’s 700 wild wolves.
3. To allow shooting within 100 feet of a human-occupied building.
4. To allow hunting of the 200 elk in the state.
5. To allow bears to be killed with dog packs.

Would you please make sure that everyone you know in Wisconsin is contacted about this horrific set of regulations that Walker's newly appointed fox-guarding-the-henhouse, Cathy Stepp will oversee? (http://m.host.madison.com/mobile/article_59520726-1440-11e0-b7f3-001cc4c03286.html)

This is Governor Scott Walker in action. Please read the link below and make sure that you vote. Yes, it is annoying to have to go vote. It is annoying that Walker won't do better than this. But, as long as he is warming the top chair in Wisconsin, we need to be on our feet, going out of our way to defeat harmful legislation like this.

The article about this has a link to the voting locations that are available. They make it exceedingly inconvenient for us. So, let us not be deterred. Let us defeat this if it is even possible to do so. I have no idea if there is any integrity left in our elections. But, just in case, let us cast our ballots.

And thank you from the bottom of my heart.:grouphug:

1. Are they trying to wipe out their wolves and elks?
With such small populations, it would only take a couple of years to wipe them out.

I guess they are trying to wipe out their human population too. Allowing shooting within 100 feet of a home is a recipe for accidental injury. But Walker and his Kochroaches aren't known for their care of humans, especially middle class and poor humans, let alone animals.

Next thing you know they will be giving out hunting permits to murder the poor and elderly. But the truth is that the rich are much more tasty. They have plenty of fat to marble the meat.

2. Right. This is Governor Scott Walker in action, not "Wisconsin",
so don't smear the entire state with the actions of one putz.

We also had tens of thousands of people demonstrating in support of workers' rights over a couple of weeks, up to 100,000 to 200,000 people a couple to times. Only in Wisconsin!!!

3. Yeah, I was there, with my sign, in the snow, in the cold!!
It is up to the good state of Wisconsin to make sure that these regulations do not become part of the law. Only Wisconsin citizens can step out on a Monday night and make something happen to interfere with this complete degradation of our wildlife and parks. Please vote. Please pass along the information. Please help us hold on to a saner course of action. Thanks.:hi:

4. The actions of one putz and all those who enabled him
either because they voted for him or failed to show up and vote against him.

9. Well, you're right there. Tens of thousands of Democrats couldn't be bothered to vote last fall.
Not voting has consequences as well. My guess is that thousands failed to get out and vote for Kloppenburg as well. I wonder what they don't get about it?

6. I think they want to destroy Wisconsin
or at least what makes it nice. Why not pave it over and be done with it.

8. The use of dogs when hunting was a WI Conserv. Congress issue last year
Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 04:58 PM by HereSince1628
I'm not sure this is simply Scott Walker. Though I'll admit this does seem like more of the Bubbafication of Wisconsin.

Here is a link to a PDF from meetings last August.

The issue was using dogs to pursue game of a variety of types.
