HAARP, conspiracies, Japan and Illuminati and gov't destruction....
wow...feel like I just entered an alternate universe. I was directed to do some research by someone I thought was a level headed progressive. I couldn't really get past all the google headings and the sites they linked to...it was all...... too alternate. Just goes to show, one never knows what lurks in the minds of seemingly rational people.

1. Half of DU has alternate realities you know
Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 09:23 PM by lunatica
And the other half do too. Everyone's got their own reality.

7. Careful: This kind of crap is put out there as a distraction from REAL ISSUES
like nuclear disasters.

It was done with UFOs as well. If there is a wack job spouting off then entire movements are undermined.

8. What if ....?

What if they are better informed than you are?

That happened to me a few years ago. I view the world quite differently now.

15. Congrats on viewing the world differently!
That's what I meant about having an open mind. Read a little, see how it makes you feel, and who knows what might change for you.

10. I've never gotten the whole Illumaninati thing.
At least in my vague understanding of the original org it was a front to try and overthrow the German gov and establish a Republic. Like I said I'n not really an expert in them, but that goal doesn't sound all that evil.

11. I love reading about all those "alternatives"
Really, what does it hurt to consider different ideas? You read them and maybe it opens your mind up to different possibilities. Or, you read them and it confirms your own beliefs more. Nothing wrong with that. Why have a closed mind?

13. The only way to tell a real conspiracy from a falsity
Edited on Sat Apr-09-11 10:09 PM by howaboutme
is the effort that is put into trivializing and marginalizing the real conspiracy, and those who talk about them. There are those who believe everything that the media or government tells them. There are others who believe nothing. I tend to believe the skeptics are more in tune with the reality of the new millennium than wide eyed believers.

Why would conspiracy theories be shuffled to the side with efforts to marginalize or muzzle those who discuss or mention them, unless such discussion is contrary to what the institutions of power want discussed. If it was irrelevant hogwash no one would give a damn. But instead many do and that should be a yellow flag.

The most efficient way for the enablers and corruptors of society to explain away a real whistle blower who would expose their actions is not to deny it, but instead to discredit or raise the issue of mental competence.
