1. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe it.
Sometimes, what man has inflicted on this earth is just too sad for words.

3. We must forward these everywhere, post everywhere. There's so much whitewashing;
the pro nuclear people say the only documented cancers from Chernobyl were thyroid cancer; they do not speak of these poor deformed children hidden away from view.

Send this to all the pro-life groups. I am serious. Get people who claim to care about children to understand the terrible dark side of nuclear accidents. Will this happen to any of the children in Japan? It could happen here, too.

Nuclear is absolutely not worth the risk to humanity. I would sooner live in a dark room with candles than take power from a source that can do what this has done.

4. Heartbreaking, and why I never let up on the pro-nuke propagandists.
:nuke:
Shit happens, no preventing it.

Sustainable energy would create tons of jobs. If Bill Gates can figure out how to burn the spent fuel waste and make energy from it, great. But kissing the devil gets you some livin' you wont like.

I want the nuke propagandists to get their asses to Japan and roll their pants up.

8. Especially enlightening was the timeline of the accident.
Things started to go wrong when they were running test procedures, but the operators continued to run the tests anyway, which led to the explosion.

It seems that the explosion at Chernobyl could have been averted.

From what we have heard, the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico could have been averted as well.

These and other "accidents" have something in common. They occur because of bad decisions made by incompetent management

Managers and executives are seldom selected because they have the necessary expertise to deal with technical issues.

If anyone with technical expertise is hired to do a job, they are invariably placed at the bottom of the pecking order, and are seldom listened to when decisions about work are made.

For this reason alone, aside from actual technical issues with nuclear power generation, expansion of nuclear power plants should never occur.
