Wisconsin editorial on the Waukesha vote and the following blogs

O. Ricardo Pementel opines on the Waukesha County vote. Milwaukee Urinal/Sentinel readers chime in. For your benefit, and theirs, I posted this summary of the blog comments:

Let me see if I can summarize the two arguments...

From the left: Wisconsin deserves a fair election. There is plenty of reason to be suspicious. Let's recount the whole state.

From right: The woman made a(nother) mistake. Only Left Wing Hacks and bloviating pompous Wingnuts would argue differently. The fact that zero votes were reported for Brookfield rules out any and every possible shady action. Her "oops" couldn't possibly have benefited Prosser, no matter what. Only lefties ever try to rig votes or elections.

BTW, any opinion by Mr. Pementel or his colleague Eugene Kane is automatically tabbed "racist" by a healthy number of JS bloggers. Welcome to 1950.

Finally, I find it more than a little curious that the RW has been so adamant that "since zero votes were reported for Brookfield, and that hurt Prosser, it's impossible for there to be fraud involved." Seems to me that holding back counts enables fraud; perhaps more savvy DU'ers can amplify????

of laying out the reasons for a recount. Without one, people just won't have a good feeling about the election. (Many won't, even with a recount.)

I didn't see any of the responses to the article call Pemental a racist.

2. Yes, I agree-both parties should ask for a recount of Waukesha CTY --if

no recount, the cloud will only darken. Lets put it to rest. We-the Left have signatures to collect, recalls etc to do.

Candidate JoAnne Kloppenburg should laugh all the way to the state Government Accountability Board, where she also should request a recount even if the final official tally finds even more votes for incumbent Justice David Prosser. Even the "winner" in that "official" final vote should file such a request.

There are no amount of reassurances from Waukesha County's canvassing board that can lift the cloud hanging over the legitimacy of the county's votes. Nickolaus' competency is too big a question.

3. And regardless of the findings of the recount and investigation, she should be out of a job.
Either way this comes down, Nickolaus is either guilty of election fraud or of gross incopetance. She's had plenty of time to mend her ways or to "resign". At this point she should just be fired.

4. Yup, she has had more than a fair chance to do her job right but
her arrogance--gets in the way.

BTW--I do believe both parties have put out statements saying they are agreeable to a recount in waukesha cty.
