Roger Ebert: The One Percenters (The top 1 percent in wealth in USA)
"The upper 1 percent of Americans are now taking in nearly a quarter of the nation's income every year. In terms of wealth rather than income, the top 1 percent control 40 percent.

"Their lot in life has improved considerably. Twenty-five years ago, the corresponding figures were 12 percent and 33 percent."

So I discover in a piece by Joseph E. Stiglitz in the new issue of Vanity Fair. These facts confirm my impression that greed is now seen as a virtue in America. I'm not surprised by the greed of the One-Percenters. I'm mystified by the lack of indignation from so many of the rest of us.

I just love that people going to his website to get film reviews will come across this.

1. "Trickle Down II... The Wealthening"
Two thumbs down. They should have stopped this series after it bombed in the 80's.

2. There's a "sports" mentality. NOTHING matters but "winning". Look at that culture; this also
applies to Economic Justice now.

8. It would be informative to know how much the British Royals controlled
(and the Lords as well) in the 1770-1780 era...

Wouldn't be surprised if they controlled equivalent percentages of the British Empire's wealth.

(In other words.... THEY'RE BACK!)
