AMERICA - THE DARK CRYSTAL

Some years ago there was an animated film called The Dark Crystal in which the Skeexies, loathesome, evil, bastards took the little people and put them into a machine which drained all their bodily fluids which the Skeexies then drank to reinvorgate themselves. It is an amazing parallel to our country today. The evil right wing drains the money and resources from the American middle class and the poor in order to enrich themselves even more.

I think we cannot rebuild from where we stand today. The Democratic Party has abandoned the people who put them in power and continue to lose ground to the Republicons. I think a lot more has to be drained from the people before they are really ready to take back the country. I do not think we have even seen the tip of the iceberg because coming up on the horizon is: never ending wars, no getting out of Iraq or Afganistan, end of Social Security and Medicare, union busting, more loss of personal freedoms, less taxes for the rich, more taxes for the poor, no health care even for the elderly, no Pell Grants, no medicaid and so on and so forth.

When it reaches critical mass we will then see what the American peoople are made of and what they are willing to risk to make America a progressive and peaceful nation. I do not believe this will happen in my lifetime.

That we all have good and evil within us, and we can't separate that question into "us vs. them".
