Daily Mail retracts story about Gordon Brown making pregnant woman give up her seat
Via a Tweet by Media Matters' Oliver Willis and the Angry Mob blog "Mail on Sunday apologises to Gordon Brown", the British tabloid Daily Mail has issued a retraction for a story "The seven months pregnant woman told to give up her British Airways seat…just so Gordon Brown could fly Club Class" and accompanying editorial. The retraction clarifies the situation: "The flight was overbooked but we accept that neither Gordon Brown nor his staff received any special treatment from British Airways, nor behaved in any way improperly."

Of course, the story has been deleted from the Daily Mail website, but has been reprinted elsewhere, like here.

And so I wonder why I've seen Daily Mail stories on the front page of DU at times such as the story about a criminal case against BP and why even FoxNews.com has been accepted into the LBN section.
