Tornado hits Green Bay!
Green Bay is 60 miles north of here in Sheboygan, so we're pretty fortunate.

One smaller rural town got clobbered, not far from here.

1. Hopefully no injuries

Outagamie County Emergency Management says a tornado touched down Sunday night in Kaukauna, damaging a home at 12th and Sullivan, near the city's downtown.

The storm blew a large air-conditioning unit the size of a car or van into the middle of the parking lot of St. Mary's Church.

A school bus in the parking lot was pushed up against the building by winds. People tell us cars in the lot were picked up and pushed together. Many cars had their back windows blown out.

Trees in the yards of nearby homes were stripped of their branches. The tree trunks came crashing down in yards, surrounded by kindling.

People tell us there is severe damage to many homes.

We're also told the American Red Cross is providing assistance to a number of families.

We have not had any reports of injuries.

3. Here's a video from Sunday night in Wisconsin- sirens and intense lightning

This was an intense storm- we had tornado sirens going off for over an hour (means take cover in a basement), baseball size hail, 70-80 mph wind gusts, tornadoes (all reported by on-air weather reporters), and the most amazing lightning I have ever seen. This video gives a feel for it, but the lightning I saw was non-stop and in all directions- the weather reporters (who reported without interruption on the am radio) were amazed, too; they were talking about measuring over 2000 strikes (bolts?) in a very short time. From what I saw, I estimate at least 100-200/minute.
